La Torreta traces its origins back to the era of the Mediterranean coastal watchtowers, built as part of a defensive system designed to monitor the coastline and protect local communities from possible maritime incursions. From its strategic position, watchmen could scan the horizon and send warning signals, making this landmark a key point for the surrounding area. Over time, its military purpose disappeared, but its silhouette and privileged location have turned it into a heritage symbol of Alboraya and a defining feature of the landscape of La Patacona. Today, carefully restored and thoughtfully adapted, La Torreta is home to Hotel La Chipirona, where history coexists with contemporary hospitality designed for true relaxation.
